Before you inquire.
A few practical questions about starting a sourcing conversation.
What equipment and materials can you help source?
We help source mining and mineral-processing equipment, process equipment, chemicals and materials, and plant and site equipment. These are examples, not a complete catalog. If you need something else, tell us what you are looking for so we can explore sourcing options with you.
Do I need a finished specification?
No. A model number, an existing quote, a short description or even an idea is enough to start a conversation. We can help work through the details with you.
How do you assess a supplier?
We agree the review with you. It can cover company details, relevant manufacturing experience, technical capability and how clearly and promptly the supplier answers questions. Relevant certifications, test reports and quality-control information can also be reviewed. Factory visits are available upon request, with the scope agreed in advance.
Do you visit suppliers on site?
Yes. Factory visits can be included on request. We agree the purpose, checks and reporting with you before a visit. Visiting can help assess manufacturing and quality controls and build a working relationship in person.
Is there a minimum order size?
It depends on the product, the supplier’s minimum and the sourcing work involved. Share what you are considering and we can discuss whether it is a fit.
Who will reply to my inquiry?
Spencer Hutchins is your point of contact. You can reach him at s.hutchins@hieintl.com or through the inquiry form.
Can I send drawings or an existing quote?
Yes. Email them to s.hutchins@hieintl.com with a short description of what you are looking for.
